Following a two-year development phase beginning in 2019, the Lost Peatlands of South Wales project has been awarded a further £1.56m by the National Lottery Heritage Fund to carry out delivery of our aims and objectives.
With additional match funding from partners – predominately Vattenfall’s Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm Habitat Management Fund - the overall project value is now more than £2.8million
The Lost Peatlands Partnership will deliver the project objectives and outcomes, drawing on the most relevant delivery expertise within the partnership.
Our partnership agreement sets out the legal details of how the partnership will work to deliver the project moving forwards. The partnership steering board will have ultimate responsibility for the project, steering its direction and making decisions.
We will engage with a wider group of stakeholders to inform, help deliver and participate in the project. Sub-groups of the wider stakeholder group - Education, Community, and Communications - will also provide the opportunity for input into how the project is delivered. These groups welcome all who wish to be involved and contribute to project activity. If you would like to find out more about the groups listed above, please do contact us
The project will be delivered by the Lost Peatlands Partnership comprising:
